Stop the Comparing

Another great day in lock down... I am creating a website at the moment. So spent the day playing around on this. It is really getting the grey matter working in the brain, that is for sure.... Loving creating this though.

Today I am super grateful for all my teachers out there.. For the people who have put themselves out there to teach what they know. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and wisdom it has helped me to become the person I am and I look forward to learning so much more.

Tip of the Day - Stop comparing.

I know this is something that we can all be guilty of. And even taking time before the lock down. Comparing ourselves with others. Looking at what they have, looking at what they achieve and seem to do. Wow, how am I ever going to be that good. Or, wow, how jealous and I because they have all these things and their life seems to be just so perfect.

Social media can play a great role in this. Looking at the "picture perfect" lives of others. Thinking that this is how their lives look all the time. Forgetting that people generally only post what is positive and all the good things that are going on in their lives. This is just not what the reality is and our logical brain knows that...

however, if we are in a bit of a down space or during the autumn/winter phase of our cycle then our brains can create all sorts of comparisons to others. I have noticed it a bit on social media during lock down.. Even communicating through social media with friends. We are all doing well, everything is awesome, we are all making the most of everything - And don't get me wrong, I think that we all are..

But what if you have a bad day - it seems like everyone else is having a great day. Why am I the only one who is feeling like crap and not handling things...

Because for the last couple of days, I have found the whole lock down a little bit like ground hog day.... Sure I am getting lots done and really enjoying that side of it. I am loving the fact that the full on life we were leading before lock down has slowed and stopped and I am absolutely thrilled to be spending so much time with our little family.........

But sometimes just sometimes, it does feel a bit weird and wrong and ground hoggish.....

So I guess if you are feeling that too then please take the time to breath, meditate and show gratitude for what you have.... And even have a family dance off - challenge another family to do a dance off competition with you. Mix it up a little bit, change the movies, change the games. Mix up your routine a little bit.

So i just wanted to let you know that if you are having some days that are a bit yuck and you feel a bit down, then I can guarantee that everyone else will be having some days like that.

What does that mean? Oh yeah that's right that you are totally normal and that it is time to stop comparing yourself with others and to get on being the most beautiful amazing version of yourself that you can be.

Live as you are meant to be, stop focusing on everyone else and rise up baby!!!

You have got this...

Have an amazing day, whether it is brimming with energy and vitality or whether you are taking it easy and hunkering down and chilling with whatever you need to chill with...... Whatever it is, that is what is right for you today.....

Stop comparing and just focus on you and the bright shining light that you are....

With love Mel xx
